A great PLC meeting, start to finish

A reliable rhythm protects the work. Here is the arc of a focused, 45–50 minute meeting.

  • Minute 0–5 Β· Connect
Open with connection & norms. Greet, review the team's norms aloud, and confirm the facilitator, recorder, and timekeeper.
  • Minute 5–15 Β· Look back
Revisit the SMART goal & data. What did we commit to last time? What does the student-learning evidence show now?
  • Minute 15–30 Β· Inquire
Center the learning question. Examine student work together, name what's working, and surface a high-leverage focus.
  • Minute 30–40 Β· Decide
Choose the next instructional action. Agree on who does what, by when, and how you'll know it worked.
  • Minute 40–48 Β· Reflect
Close with reflection & commitments. Each member names one insight and one commitment for the coming week.
  • Minute 48–50 Β· Confirm
Set the next meeting & roles. Lock the date, rotate facilitation, and capture the agenda seed for next time.
